Dozens of City Dads Group members will be among the fathers descending on Washington, D.C, later this week for the fifth annual Dad 2.0 Summit, a national conference where marketers, social media leaders, blogging parents and regular dads get together to discuss the changing voice and perception of modern fatherhood.

Representatives from 15 of 19 City Dads Group outposts from around the country will be on hand at the three-day event, a fact that has co-founder Lance Somerfeld excited.

“We have been attending Dad 2.0 since it’s inception, and the first connection we made with many of the fathers who manage our City Dads Groups around the country came at those conferences,” Somerfeld said. “These three days prove greatly inspiration to us as parents and a great opportunity for us to connect with our team in person. We credit the Dad 2.0 Summit for amplifying one of our core values — promoting the positive portrayal of the modern father.”

Somerfeld and fellow co-founder Matt Schneider will host a meeting for City Dads Group organizers and content contributors on Saturday to help get the team up to speed on the organization’s latest developments.

Sixteen of our members will share their unique perspectives on fatherhood as speakers or panelists at Dad 2.0, joining nationally known personalities as NFL Hall of Famer/talk show host Michael Strahan and Heroes For My Son author Brad Meltzer. Topics to be covered included dealing with men’s health issues, partnering with brands, and improving your blogging skills through the visual arts.

Anthony has been chosen to be one of five “Blogger Spotlight” readers, an honor in which a father reads aloud one of his writings before the entire conference. It is an accolade five other City Dads Group members have received in the past.
